Our efforts go above and beyond in how we wish to impact our communities internationally.
- Build and repair mosques and madrasah (schools) in challenged areas in need of assistance
- Assisting the communities serviced by the mosques to provide education and means towards self sufficiency, peaceful living practices and social cooperation
- Provide scholarships towards acquiring education degrees to promote health, science, language and Islamic education and awareness
- Provide basic services associated with cultural and religious traditions:
- A center for prayer
- A center for Islamic education and information
- Space and resources for Islamic funerary services
- Provide a venue and forum for cultural and social interaction
We wish to foster peace and self-reliance with Islamic education, incorporating health and science through the mosques and madrasahs in the local communities we serve. The reinforcement of co-existence and life practices for Muslims to improve awareness and provide a stage for dialogue to promote peace and brotherhood among people.
A place of peace comes in many forms both tangible and intangible:
- Inner peace
- Peace amongst family, neighborhoods, community
- Peace through safety such as shelter
- Peace through nourishment and sustained resources
- Peace through co-existence of all humanity across borders
The mosques and madrasahs we build, repair and add to, are spaces of information sharing and community building. They are spaces welcoming all life.
Qalb-al-Qamar is an Arabic phrase meaning "Heart of the Moon". There are many notable mosques that are historic and large places for gathering. We focus on the small mosques in rural areas that are the heart of the communities they serve. These are the locations we seek to build, rebuild or repair.
Islam teaches coexistence and self reflection. This begins with community which rural mosques, albeit large or small, are areas of gathering to thrive and learn from youth through adulthood. This is our focus.
In many of the locations we serve, even the smallest of support can make a significant impact to the mental and physical state of the community and the people. The strength of a new or rebuilt mosque reinforces their structure, community and spirit.
